(detail page) JABU is a rooftop bar at Somerset Westview, Nairobi, offering panoramic city views alongside a refined, contemporary drinks and dining experience. Elegant Fittings was commissioned to design and fabricate the centrepiece bar counter, using Caesarstone Coastal Grey 6003 thermoformed into flowing curved lines rather than conventional straight runs. The result is a sculptural bar that anchors the space, paired with marble-effect flooring, warm wood-clad surrounds, and the venue’s signature backlit feature tree.

The client wanted a bar that felt handcrafted and timeless rather than off-the-shelf, with curved lines that would set JABU apart from a typical straight-run hospitality bar. The brief called for a material refined enough to read as quiet luxury, finished in a way that would hold up to nightly commercial bar service.

Caesarstone Coastal Grey 6003 was selected for the bar worktop and drops for its subtle elegance and matte refinement. Through expert thermoforming, Elegant Fittings curved the stone into flowing lines that reflect the client’s vision of timeless, handcrafted luxury. Advanced digital templating captured every contour of the site, and CNC fabrication ensured each piece met rigorous quality standards before installation, delivering a centrepiece that balances form, function and lasting durability.
