Custom Backlit Stone Shelving Unit, Caesarstone Brown Agate & Dekton Khalo, Zanzibar

A bespoke backlit display shelf designed and fabricated in-house by the Elegant Fittings workshop, built from the client’s own concept and brought to life by EF’s metal and stone fabrication teams working together. Caesarstone Brown Agate and Dekton Khalo were combined to create a striking circular feature piece, backlit to highlight the depth and movement of both stones.

The client had a clear idea of how they wanted the unit to look and feel, a circular, backlit display shelf with genuine stone character rather than a conventional timber or metal fixture. The brief called for a piece that would double as both functional shelving and a sculptural feature.

The unit was engineered with a steel frame and stand fabricated in-house, paired with Caesarstone Brown Agate and Dekton Khalo cut and finished for the circular face and shelving. Backlighting was integrated behind the stone to bring out the banded agate pattern and the gold and coffee-brown flecks of the Khalo surface. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece built entirely in-house, from structural steelwork to final stone finishing, demonstrating Elegant Fittings’ combined metal and stone fabrication capability under one roof.
