(detail page) Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Nairobi Westlands opened in March 2025 as Africa’s first dual-branded Hyatt project, combining 168 modern guest rooms with 57 extended-stay apartments across a 14-storey development on Lower Kabete Road. Elegant Fittings was entrusted with the stone fabrication and installation, using Dekton Kairos for the breakfast counter, Dekton Aura for the staircase treads and surrounds, Dekton Soke for the rooftop bar counter, Caesarstone Piatra Grey for the planters, and a striking backlit Caesarstone Blue Agate feature wall at the lobby entryway. Each piece was digitally templated and CNC-fabricated to meet the exacting standards of a global hospitality brand, ensuring flawless finishes across every high-traffic touchpoint.

As Hyatt’s first dual-branded hotel in Africa, the project demanded stone surfaces that could uphold a global luxury standard while enduring the heavy use of a 225-key hotel serving both short-stay and extended-stay guests. The development required consistent quality across multiple application areas, from the breakfast counter and rooftop bar to stairways and the lobby entryway, all delivered on a tight construction timeline.

Elegant Fittings provided end-to-end stone fabrication and installation, leveraging advanced digital templating and CNC machining to deliver precision-fit surfaces across the property. Dekton Kairos, with its statuary marble-like white and pale grey veining, was selected for the breakfast counter to bring a bright, luxury finish to the all-day dining area. Dekton Aura clads the staircase, its Calacatta and Carrara-inspired veining carried up through a high-traffic vertical circulation space. Dekton Soke, with its cement-inspired grey tones, forms the rooftop bar counter, suited to an industrial-contemporary outdoor lounge with city views. Caesarstone Piatra Grey was used for the planters throughout the property, while a backlit Caesarstone Blue Agate installation anchors the lobby entryway as a dramatic, large-scale feature wall. The material selection balanced aesthetic refinement with hospitality-grade durability, ensuring every surface meets both Hyatt’s brand standards and the practical demands of high-traffic commercial use.
