Custom Entrance Flooring, Dekton Khalo Framed in Caesarstone Empira Black, Kenya

A bespoke entrance flooring feature designed and fabricated by the Elegant Fittings workshop, placing Dekton Khalo at the heart of the main entrance, framed by Caesarstone Empira Black. The warm gold and coffee-brown tones of the Khalo inset were chosen to complement the surrounding hardwood flooring, with the black border providing a clean, graphic transition between stone and timber.

The client wanted a beautiful entrance feature that would sit naturally alongside the existing brown wooden floor, rather than competing with it. The brief called for a stone inset with enough warmth and movement to feel intentional, framed in a way that would define the space without overwhelming it.

Dekton Khalo was fabricated as the central inset, its Patagonia-inspired black, gold and coffee-brown tones chosen specifically to harmonize with the existing hardwood floor. Caesarstone Empira Black was used as the surrounding frame, its fine white veining against the black base creating a sharp, deliberate border between the Khalo feature and the timber flooring beyond. The result is an entrance that feels cohesive with the home’s existing material palette, while still standing out as a considered design moment.
