Do porcelain countertops need sealing?
No. Large-format porcelain is non-porous, so it does not require the periodic sealing that natural stone needs.

Is porcelain better than quartz for kitchen countertops?
Porcelain has the advantage where heat, UV and outdoor use matter, since it can be specified inside and out. Quartz is a strong indoor choice with very consistent colour. For a typical indoor kitchen either works well, and the decision usually comes down to design and where the surface is going.
Can porcelain slabs be used outdoors?
Yes. Atlas Plan porcelain is rated for exterior use, so it can run from an indoor kitchen out to a terrace or outdoor kitchen in the same finish.
