Non-porous and heat-resistant, so hot pans go straight down and nothing soaks in. Jumbo slabs run a full worktop without a visible join.
At 4mm and 8mm, Dekton is light enough to clad interior and exterior walls, fireplaces and feature panels without added structural load.

Sintered stone is made by compacting natural minerals under extreme heat and pressure, reproducing in hours the process that forms natural stone over thousands of years. The result is an ultra-compact surface with near-zero porosity. Dekton by Cosentino is the sintered stone Elegant Fittings supplies in Kenya.

For heat, UV and outdoor exposure, yes. Dekton resists high temperatures and direct sunlight without fading, so it can be used outdoors where quartz cannot. Quartz remains an excellent choice for indoor kitchens, offering very consistent colour and pattern. The right answer depends on where the surface is going.
Yes. Dekton is highly heat-resistant, so cookware can be set down straight onto the worktop without a trivet. Quartz cannot do this, because the resin in engineered quartz is damaged by direct heat. Dekton also tolerates heat well enough for an induction unit to be fitted underneath the slab, letting you cook on the worktop itself.
No. Dekton has near-zero porosity, so it never needs sealing. Soap and water is enough to keep it clean.
Yes, with invisible induction. An induction unit is fitted beneath the Dekton slab during fabrication, so the worktop becomes the hob. There is nothing visible on the surface, you simply place the pan on the marked zone and cook. Induction heats the pan rather than the stone, so the surrounding worktop stays cool and wipes clean as normal. This has to be planned before fabrication, because the slab thickness and cut-outs are set at that stage, so raise it during your showroom consultation.
Invisible induction hides the hob under the countertop instead of cutting a separate appliance into it. The induction coil sits beneath the slab and heats cookware through the stone, leaving an uninterrupted run of worktop with no glass hob, no frame and no seams to clean around. It suits island kitchens where the worktop is the centrepiece, and it needs a surface dense and heat-tolerant enough to work through, which is why it is specified with Dekton.
Price depends on the colour, thickness and finish selected, plus fabrication and installation for your specific project. Elegant Fittings quotes per project after a site measurement. Contact the Ridgeways showroom or order any colour on WhatsApp for current pricing.
